John McAllister, Chairman of the Board
John has over 20 years experience of the healthcare industry having been the cornerstone of two successful healthcare providers. John’s commitment and experience will ensure that the delivery of care by Selborne Care is second to none and the example for others to follow.
Michael Stratford, Chief Executive
An experienced healthcare business executive manager, Mike involves himself in all aspects of the organisation to maintain an excellent standard of service delivery. His personal commitment and understanding of developing care facilities ensures that Selborne Care offers a consistent, innovative quality environment. As Chief Executive Mike is responsible for the controlled expansion, governance and operational management of the service.
Simon Bishop, Company Director
Simon joined the Executive board having been Senior Partner of his own legal practice, which specialised inter alia in the healthcare sector. This means Simon has good experience of understanding the constraints and legislation of the care sector. Simon’s organisational skills and business management ensures the smooth effective running of the organisation.
Mark Butler, Director of Professional Services
A registered nurse (RMN), Mark has 30 years experience in various NHS and independent care settings. Prior to being involved in the creation of Selborne, Mark had national responsibility for ensuring delivery of quality care through clinical governance within a large healthcare organisation. As the responsible individual, Mark undertakes the operational responsibilities of the Homes on behalf of the company, including development of policy and procedures, protocol, guidelines and corporate governance protocols and practices for the organisation. In addition to his nursing qualifications Mark has obtained a number of other qualifications relevant to his role as Director of Professional Services. Mark is a member of IMHAP and is a member of a board of Mental Health Act Hospital Managers.
Nick Bird – Chief Financial Officer
Nick began working in the Healthcare sector in 1995 and since then has held several senior roles within finance. He joined Selborne Care in 2005 as Accountant and has been instrumental in the implementation of the robust financial systems and policies currently in use. He joined the Executive Board in 2009.
Kevin Taylor – Operations Manager West Midlands
Is an RMN, having trained at Broadmoor Hospital from 1982. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings including Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Adolescents, Rehabilitation, and Female Services, some of whom had a forensic history. Obtaining a Teaching Certificate, he believes training is the guiding principle in the search for quality. He holds additional qualifications in management and counselling. He has been involved in the Management of Aggression and Violence training since 1984 and delivered workshops / seminars at the Nursing Times Conference (Earls Court) 1998, Naidex Conference (NEC) 1999, Community Care Magazine (Manchester / Bristol) 1999. Kevin has vast experience of management in Public and Independent Healthcare sectors. He presently holds the position of Operations Manager, having day to day responsibility for the general management of four locations covering Domiciliary Care / Supported Living and Care with Accommodation .
