Selborne Mews
Based in South Road, Smethwick and registered with the Care Quality Commission as a care home with nursing. Selborne Mews has 3 units, Fontwell, Exeter and Hexham, providing 15 one and two bedroomed apartments for a maximum of 20 persons with a courtyard communal garden. All bedrooms have a call-point system and telephones.
Awarded the highest 3 star (excellent service) rating from the Care Quality Commission on its most recent inspection.
The apartments provide for service users a real sense of “home” and the two-bedroomed apartments specifically meet the needs of those persons who may wish to share rather than live alone. All apartments promoting wellbeing and security and afford the opportunity to develop the daily living skills necessary to provide a pathway and transition to successful community living.

Registered Manager – Kevin Taylor
Is a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN), having trained at Broadmoor Hospital from 1982. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings including Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Adolescents, Rehabilitation, and Female Services, some of whom had a forensic history. Obtaining a Teaching Certificate, he believes training is the guiding principle in the search for quality. He holds additional qualifications in management and counselling. He has been involved in the Management of Aggression and Violence training since 1984 and delivered workshops / seminars at the Nursing Times Conference (Earls Court) 1998, Naidex Conference (NEC) 1999, Community Care Magazine (Manchester / Bristol) 1999. Kevin has vast experience of management in Public and Independent Healthcare sectors. He presently holds the position of Operations Manager, having day to day responsibility for the general management of four locations covering Domiciliary Care / Supported Living and Care with Accommodation.
Director of Professional Services – Mark Butler
As a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN), Mark has over 30 years experience in a variety of NHS and independent care and support settings. Mark has been a member of the executive team since inception of the Company in 2005. During this time, Mark has played a significant part in the development, registration and transition of new services throughout the Midlands and South West counties. As the Responsible Individual under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulations 2010), Mark undertakes the legal responsibilities of all the organisation’s services on behalf of the Company, including development of policy and procedures, protocols, guidelines, quality, governance and the “good practice” of the organisation. In addition to his nursing qualifications, mark has obtained a number of other qualifications relevant to his role as Director of Professional Services. Mark is a member of the Institute for Mental Health Act Practitioners (IMHAP) and is a member of a board of Mental Health Act Hospital Managers.
