Selborne’s West Midlands Supported Living Services operation commenced a new service for Staffordshire funded individuals on 1st September 2011. The contract represents a re-provision service for seven people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorder living in individual apartments on a single site in Hockley Heath, Birmingham.
The public tender process for this service commenced in May 2011 when interested parties became aware of the opportunity. Tender submissions were made in June 2011 from which five providers were awarded the opportunity to be interviewed by a panel and to whom, presentations were made in July. Selborne Care Ltd was advised of its success and a pre-prepared recruitment and training programme was put into immediate effect resulting in the employment of some 35 local staff.
Staffordshire’s multi-disciplinary team is pleased with our early progress in achieving positive outcomes for the seven people using the services and with the successful service level agreements agreed between the out of area local authority and local services.
